An automobile company in Beijing, China has unveiled the spectacular invention for a pollution solution, which could glide over other road buses and cars.
While we are praising driver less car from the United Arab Emirates UAE, its counterpart the People’s Republic of China has invented an elevated bus.
The new invention is called Transit Explore Bus or TEB for short. It was first showcased in early May at a technology exhibition in Beijing. According to reports, the “straddling bus”, which owes more to Blade Runner than China’s car-clogged highways, is supported by two legs that run along rails laid along the roadside.
A local exhibitor, who saw the expo said, “Those legs allow the TEB’s giant frame to glide high above the gridlock at speeds of up to 60km per hour. Equally, vehicles that are less than two meters high will be able to drive freely underneath the bus, even when it is stationary”.
The project coordinator Song Youzhou, said “The biggest advantage of the TEB is that the bus will save lots of road space. These buses are capable of transporting up to 1,400 commuters. As well as be produced for 20% of the price of an underground train. One TEB could replace 40 conventional buses.”
A prototype will be deployed on the streets of Qinhuangdao, a coastal city about 300km east of Beijing, soon.
