A Nigerian engineer has debuted a made in Nigerian tractor, wholly build and designed with resources from Nigeria.
Timothy Addigi, from Tiv tribe in Nigerian is set to launch his innovation. With Addigi’s work, agricultural innovation is certainly on the rise on the continent.
The tractor has been named as “Ijodo”, meaning “labour” in the Tiv language. Addigi stated “I designed and built this tractor, which is 100% Nigerian, with a team of skilled individuals”.
A multi-purpose Ijodo, is a welcome invention and it is expected to ease the burden of farming in a country and continent where mechanization remains a neglected element of agricultural and rural development across Africa.
Online reports, revealed that this could be a game changer in the agricultural industry; as labor cost are on the rise in the country.
