Bronx, NY – On Saturday, Aug. 13th the Ghana Parade Council and African Friends of NY invite all New Yorkers to come and celebrate the 7th Afro Cultural Parade and Festival at Crotona Park, Bronx.

The Ghanaian community in the Bronx, which is thought to be the largest cluster of Africans in any metropolitan city in the US, will be coming together to showcase Ghanaian arts and culture with New Yorkers. The event will include performances by the Wassa Pan Africa Dance Ensemble, Zick Drummers, 2Shy, Jay Baba, SOB Dancers, Clam Binny, Jamaican Artist Dawn, Francis Akrofi – trumpet player and many more. Attendees will also be invited to participate in a voters registration drive, courtesy of African Leadership Project’s Stephanie Arthur.

“This years gathering is the culmination of 5 years of community building and social programs not just for Ghanaians, but the many other African kingdoms represented in this wonderful city” says event organizer Catherine Cudjoe aka KeyMama. “My message to all New Yorkers is that we must continue to build the bridges of understanding and cooperation so that we can continue to enlarge this pie we call the American Dream. We are much stronger together. Akwaaba!”
