Dr.Yetunde Zaid Wins Fulbright African Research Scholar Grants

The head of the Readers Services Department at University of Lagos Library, Dr. Yetunde Zaid, achieved the remarkable feat and broke a new ground, by becoming the First Female Librarian in Nigeria to be awarded the Fulbright African Research Scholar Grants for the 2016/2017 Academic year.

The grant beneficiary is expected to be available for a 10-month course in the USA, which commenced on August 1, 2016 ending on May 31, 2017 at the University of California, Los Angeles, United States of America. During this period Zaid, would research and produce a result for publication in Library Studies.

Meanwhile, UNILAG BOOK CLUB led by Mr. Adebanjo Alfred (President of Unilag Book Club) had paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Zaid’s office to congratulate the outstanding accomplishment and present her with the book “Staying Power” by Michael Cusumano.

According to Alfred, Dr. Zaid has proven herself to be a model and mentor to the club.
