The New Normal in the Workplace

By Wazobia Staff

In this age of technology, we have to look at what we call normal. At one point, we wouldn’t think of not having a house phone; now most people have cell phones. The desk top computer has all but been replaced by laptops and tablets. Music and movies are no longer relegated to radios and movie theaters. Normal is changing every day, right before our eyes.

work from homeWith that in mind, what is normal when it comes to the work place? Is it normal to work Monday through Friday, nine to five? How about going to a particular building and punching in for those hours? Not necessarily. There are top companies looking to pay people to stay home. Economically this works for employer and employee.

For the employer, they don’t have to spend revenue on a larger office space. A smaller office means less overhead cost allowing the employer to expand their business reach. The more growth for the company also means more jobs.

For the employee, the employer may pay better due to the lack of overhead cost for the company. Then the employee wouldn’t have to spend money or time commuting to work. If they have children, they don’t have to worry about child care.

I know there are the scams out here in regards to working from home, but on the other side there are reputable companies that are looking for you.
