On April 7, 2017, the Graduate Students of Western Michigan University celebrated the outstanding work of their peers at the “Make a Difference Awards”. Close to three hundred people gathered at the Radisson Hotel in Kalamazoo Michigan to shed light on the achievements of students in and out of their programs at Western Michigan University (WMU). One of the graduate students honored at this event was Temitope Omotayo, co-founder of Wazobia Global Times Newspaper.
The outgoing President of the Graduate Students Association, Damon Chambers welcomed all guests to the occasion, as well as listing the achievements of the Association. He charged the incoming executives to build on the current foundation.
The Association took the opportunity to highlight the diversity that characterizes WMU’s graduate student body. Emphasizing on the theme of the night “Around the World”. It was a fun night full of recognitions, musical performances, delicious food, and great music that kept us dancing in to the night.
