The ability to get a quality college education just got a little easier in Michigan. With the average in-state tuition being $13,568 for the 2015-2016 academic year, college can be out of reach for some families. The University of Michigan recently announced the Go Blue Guarantee. Starting January 2018, any current or future in-state student whose family earns $65,000 or less will be eligible for free tuition for four years.
There are a few key things you should keep in mind about the Guarantee. This program will cover four years or eight semesters of tuition only. For room and board or books students will still have to use financial aid or loans. The program will not cover graduate degrees or second bachelor’s degrees.
The University has set up a web site at http://goblueguarantee.umich.edu/ for more information.
