Yoruba American Community(YAC) the apex body of all Yoruba descendants in Michigan and neighboring states in United States of America inaugurated new set of executives who will be taking charge of the affairs of the community for the next two years. The inauguration held on Sunday January 14,2018.

The ceremony was attended by people from all walks of life, the roll call of attendees includes Chief(Dr.) Osiyoye who was the chairman of the historic event. Other dignitaries are Prince (Dr.) Ade Adeleke, former President of Nigerian Foundation of Michigan and his wife,  Hon. Ayo Da- Silva, the immediate past President of Yoruba American Community with his wife, Otunba Sola Oluwole, a distinguished philanthropist and entrepreneur, Chief(Dr.) Ikenna Duru, President of Igbo Cultural Association of Michigan (ICAM), Mrs. Adesuwa Adesuwa, President of South South Women Association, Dr. Salewa Olafioye, Executive Director of UACO, High Chief & Chief (Mrs.) Obi, Hon Kenneth Osiagwu, the President of Mbaise Association and his predecessor, Prince Ama,  Dr. Agboola, the Chief Imam of Detroit Muslim Society and his wife, Alhaji Abiodun Yinusa, a board member and the President of Detroit Muslim Society, Pastor  & Deaconess Olatunde of the Apostolic Church, Detroit, Pastor & Deaconess Elugbemi of the Apostolic Church Canton, Mrs. Tinu Otote, former President, South South Women Association, Mr. Akande, Mr. Atigarin, Mr. Rotimi Ogunkoya  (Tungba Commander) and his wife, Mr. Segun Ekutu, Mr. Oladotun Taiwo of the Afenifere Renewal Association, North America, Mr. Ojubanire and his wife.  Hon. Sola Salako, President of Oodua Organization of Michigan with his wife, Mr. Bashiru Adams,  Hon. Dapo Williams and many other dignitaries

The new executives were also in attendance, the new President, Hon. Makun thanked all for coming and promised to build on the legacies of the outgoing executives led by Hon. Ayo Da- Silva.   Hon. Ayo Da-Silva enumerated his achievements since he took over  as President of the Community and charged members to support the new executives.

Tungba Commander, Mr. Rotimi Ogunkoya dished out melodious tunes to the admiration of the guests till early hours of the next day. It is really a new dawn for Yoruba American Community.
