IIMD Holds Annual African American Gala Dinner and Festival

Press Release from IIMD

The International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit (IIMD) invites the Detroit community to join us for our 12th Annual African American History Month Gala Dinner and Festival. The evening of honors, festivities, entertainment and excellent dining will be held in our Hall of Nations, February 28, 2018 from 6:00 – 10:00 PM.

The African American History Month Gala opens our annual series of fundraising events to support IIMD’s International Club After School Program, “Unity in our Global Community”. This unique program promotes global learning and cultural awareness to help our children and youth “Think Globally and Act Locally.”

The evening of festivities, exhibits and dinner, will culminate in celebrating the accomplishments of an 11-year-old African-American entrepreneur who will take his place on the dais with award winners representing some of Detroit’s outstanding African Americans.

In its 99th year of service, the IIMD proudly continues in its commitment to build bridges of understanding, harmony, unity, and peace in our local and global community.
