A prominent Yewa Leader and former Commissioner in Ogun State, Pastor George Olugbemi Adekunte has died.
He died barely a week after the demise of Chief David Adeyemi Coker, a former Ogun State Commissioner for Economic Planning, Trade and Industries.
Adekunte died yesterday afternoon at 82 years of age.He was born on December 31, 1937.
George Adekunte held many cabinet positions in the Ogun State Executive Council between 1986 and 1991.He was Commissioner for Education(1986-1988),Commissioner for Special Duties(1988-1990),Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development(1991).
He was Principal of Anglican Grammar School,Ilaro (1979-1982) and Principal, Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro(1982-1986).
He was a member of the Yewa Think Tank; Member, Ogun State Council of Elders; Member,Board of Trustees of the Yewa Education Trust Fund and Egbado(Yewa)Communications Limited, publishers of the Yewa News Magazine.
He is survived by his wife and children, including Magistrate Wole Adekunte and Engr Adeoniye Adekunte.
