The President, Muhammadu Buhari says his regime will address the problem of insecurity and handover a secured country free from security challenges.
To achieve this, he said, he has given the military and other security agencies clear order to crush bandits in the northern part of the country.
Buhari stated this when he paid a courtesy on the Sultan of Sokoto, , Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, on Thursday.
Buhari noted that the current happening in the North West is disturbing, with people of same culture killing themselves with no clear reasons.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in a statement issued later, quoted Buhari as saying “I gave them (security chiefs) specific orders not to spare any bandit or terrorist threatening the lives and property of innocent Nigerians.”
The President, who commiserated with the Government and people of Sokoto over the recent loss of lives and property as a result of attacks by bandits and other criminal gangs, assured the people that he remains unrelenting in his resolve to put an end to heinous criminal activities in the state and other parts of the country.
In the visitors’ register, he wrote, “My condolences to the Sultanate, the Government, and people of Sokoto State over the recent mindless killings by bandits and terrorists. Nigeria shall win the battle over evil.”
The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal and the Sultan thanked the President for the show of sympathy, assuring him of continued support towards peace and stability.
