KENTUCKY GETS FIRST BLACK FEMALE REPRESENTATIVE IN MANY YEARS

After running on a platform of inclusion and change, a relatively unknown won the Democratic primary for Kentucky’s 41st House District. On May 17, 2016, Attica Scott beat out incumbent Tom Riner with 54% of the votes.
