Meet Olugbenga Babatola, First African Mayor of Greenwich Borough, London

In  few  days, an African man will make history as Mayor in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, South-East London. In 2015, Olugbenga Babatola, a Nigerian born British citizen, first made history when he was elected the first African deputy mayor in that same town serving under the current Mayor, Norman Adams. The year before that in 2014, Babatola, was elected councillor in the Thamesmead Moorings Ward, known to be dominated by Africans.
